Great for quiet business lunch. Not crowded so reservations not necessary lunch time. Food was tasty and lunch portion was still quite sizable. One of the better locations for a business lunch.

I really want to like them, but it's always hit and miss. Best bets for us are the Sicilian Chicken (always good) and the Cesar salad. The bean soup is okay most of the time, but many times, it's too thick, and once I found a long hair in mine -- ugh. The pasta is pretty much run of the mill -- the dishes offered, but they taste pretty good. Service is usually good, but can get really sketchy on busy nights -- plenty of free parking at this location.

Assagio is the local Italian restaurant for Hawaii Kai. It's more upscale than most of the restaurants at Koko Marina Center, with cloth napkins and white-shirted waiters. They offer a range of dishes beyond just pasta, and have a wine list. In the past, Assagio's dishes were overloaded with garlic, but they must have changed chefs, because the garlic was more of a background flavor the last two times I visited. Most tables have a view of the marina. Entrees in the $20-$30 range. Decent parking.

Perfect place for a date night❤We came across this place unexpectedly. 7pm-ish Restaurant wasn't busy and didn't need reservations. We did feel a little out of place as for it is an upper scale restaurant. (Not all of us were dressed up) But this place isn't a collared shirt, closed toe shoe dress code. Staff was great, and professional. As for the food, our steak fanatic friend ordered the NY steak. He claims its the only steak that has been cooked to his liking this whole trip! We've all been in honolulu for a month, thats ALOT of steaks.Our dish the Veal alla francese! (Large)- 27$ Was enough for my other half and myself to share. We also could've gotten away with the small portion. We all left content and stuffed! We would come back😊

Atmosphere and service is on par, but the taste of the food is rather middle of the road for a quality Italian restaurant. The tomato sauce on my pasta was almost bland to unseasoned. I told my partner I could make a better sauce with Ragu off the shelf. When you're a prisoner to no options in Hawaii Kai you take what you can get. It's the nature of island life and expected 🤙

The salad made at table was good but I think next time I will go to Kahala Bistro Assaggio..there the food is much more flavorful and service along with the ambiance more enjoyable.

I don't know why Americans think that Italians eat garlic like peanuts! WE DON'T! We use it but not like fake Italian restaurants does over here.By the way, the owner was nice and professional.

MoreIt is my wife's & mine 22nd wedding anniversary today. We went to Assaggios at Hawaii Kai because of the food, service & atmosphere. However, this time the waiter we had was not on his job.He started out ok but as time passed, he never checked on us at all. I had to get up, walk to the bar area & asked to be helped...the bus boy was more attentive than the waiter. When the waiter returned, he never asked how our meal was nor apologized for being absent when he should've been tending to his customers. He also lightly tossed the bill on our table & said, "Thanks" then walked away.Really? Was it because my wife is disabled? Either way we won't be returning. The bill was $50+...we left him a $2 "tip"...it was our way of striking back.
